FAQ

What is WCAIDFM?

WCAIDFM is a platform that shows companies with still unspecific AI projects the potential of suitable AI use cases and suggests suitable solution providers.

Why do you operate WCAIDFM? What do you want to achieve with it?

With WCAIDFM, we want to give companies the opportunity to find an AI provider that fits their use case. We want to build a bridge between companies and AI providers. In addition, we would also like to bring the innovative solutions of the German AI landscape more strongly into use at companies and thus support SMEs in the implementation of AI.

How does WCAIDFM work?

Technically, the planned web application is based on the AI semantha® of the software company thingsTHINKING from Karlsruhe. The semantic platform is capable of analyzing texts at the level of meaning and matching them with existing entries without individual training. If the desired application is described via the form, this entry is compared with existing descriptions of use cases and existing hits are displayed in order to suggest the appropriate AI service provider.

Is the text I enter in the search box saved?

The text you enter is only checked by us to see whether and which hints the AI semantha has played out, in order to improve the quality of the hints. The text itself is not used for “training purposes”, i.e. the texts entered by AI prospects are not transferred to the database from which WCAIDFM generates the hints. What happens to the voice-to-text/speech-to-text recording that I give to WCAIDFM? Is this recording saved?

The Voice-to-text/Speech-to-text feature is a function of your operating system from your mobile device and not an offer from WhatCanAIDoForMe.com. We only want to make it easier for you to enter the text manually.

WCAIDFM does not give me any results – What can I do?

Since the output of results depends on the level of detail of your description of the use case or problem, we recommend you to make the description a bit more general and use less details – try to describe your problem in one sentence and start the search again. If you still don’t get any results, feel free to contact us.

If I don’t get a result – is there really no provider for my use case?

Please note that the description of the use cases was collected at the beginning of the project phase of WhatCanAIDoForMe. It may therefore be the case in the meantime that the solutions of the AI companies participating in the project have evolved. We therefore recommend that if you are interested in an AI solution, you contact the relevant AI company to ensure that the solution fits your use case.

I get results that do not match my description. What now?

If you receive results that do not match your description, this may mean that semantha did not understand the text you entered correctly, or that you may have encountered a technical problem. In this case, we look forward to hearing from you.

No value-added potential is output for my result. Why?

Please note that the value creation potentials are not determined by our project team, but are recorded on the basis of interviews. These interviews were conducted by our research partners HdM and Kenbun with companies that already use AI in their use cases and can therefore provide information about the value creation potential. If you do not see any value creation potential, it may be that we have not yet recorded any value creation potential for the use case that matches your description.

What is a value-added potential?

The value-added potential is an indicator of how high the potential of the played out AI use case is for revenue increase, cost reduction and business valuation.
